Developments in Visual Communication1915-1940

This is my completed montage – hope you like it!




Founded in Moscow by Kazimir Malevich in 1913 and was concerned with using utilitarian strategies to adapt art to the principles of functional organisation. I other words they strove to convey objects in nature and real life with shapes arranged in space on canvas.



Below is another image that I prepared for my montage. This one represents the bauhaus movement, which was founded by Walter Gropius in 1919 and located initially in Weimar, Germany but later moved to Switzerland. the aim of Bauhaus was to combine art, architecture, graphic design, interior design, industrial design and typography to produce functional and aesthetically pleasing design.
